Chapter 3

Author’s POV

Taehyung sat quietly on the couch, eyes still fixed on the paused movie screen. Sana hadn’t come back yet, and it had already been a few minutes. He assumed the call must’ve been work-related — maybe her company or some client.

He leaned back, smiling softly to himself.

> “Probably something important again…”

Sana was always juggling deadlines, sketches, and new design ideas. She was passionate about her work — and Taehyung loved that about her. Being married to someone ambitious meant respecting her space, even when he missed her presence beside him.

With a small sigh, he got up, stretching his arms lazily before picking up the empty plates from the coffee table. There were traces of creamy pasta sauce and vanilla milkshake left behind.

He chuckled to himself.

> “Our little foodie could not even decide what she wants to eat”

he murmured, shaking his head fondly.

Walking into the kitchen, he rolled up his sleeves and started washing the dishes. The water was warm, the sound of it calming. He hummed a soft tune under his breath — something random, something only Sana would recognize as she had heard numerous numbers of his unpublished songs.

Taehyung didn’t mind doing chores. In fact, he kind of liked it. It made him feel… normal, grounded. Besides, Sana absolutely hated washing dishes — and he’d accepted that responsibility long ago, claiming it as his department in their shared home.

---

A few minutes later, soft footsteps approached from behind. He turned with a smile, expecting to see his wife’s bright eyes and cheeky grin.

But his smile disappeared instantly.

Sana stood at the doorway, her eyes red, cheeks streaked with tears.

Taehyung froze, heart skipping a beat. He turned off the tap, dried his hands quickly, and rushed toward her.

> “Hey, hey… what happened, love?” he asked softly, holding her face between his palms.

“Why are you crying? Did something happen?”

Sana didn’t answer. Her lips trembled, tears spilling over again. Before he could say anything more, she threw herself into his arms, hugging him tightly and hiding her face in his chest.

Taehyung’s breath hitched. He wrapped his arms around her instantly, holding her close, worry flooding his chest.

> “Are you hurt somewhere? Did someone say something? Please tell me, you’re making me really worried right now,”

he whispered, brushing his hand over her hair gently.

Sana shook her head.

> “No… I’m not hurt,”

she murmured, her voice small and shaky.

Taehyung sighed in relief but still cupped her face again, his thumb wiping her tears away.

> “Then what happened, hmm? You’re crying so much and not telling me anything.”

Sana took a deep breath, her voice trembling as she spoke.

> “Mumma called me…”

Taehyung froze.

> “Y–your mumma?”

His brows furrowed, disbelief flashing across his face. The same mother who hadn’t spoken to her in over a year… suddenly called?

> “Oh ”

he whispered.

“What did she say?”

Sana sniffled, trying to control her tears.

> “She said Zia’s , my cousin's wedding got fixed. It’s next month.”

Taehyung smiled softly.

> “That’s really good news, sweetheart. But then… why are you crying, hmm? Silly girl,”

he teased lightly, trying to lighten her mood.

Sana looked up at him, her eyes shimmering.

> “Because… they invited us. Both of us.”

Taehyung blinked, confused.

> “Us? You mean… me too?”

> “Yes, Tae,”

she said softly, a small, emotional smile appearing on her lips.

“They told me to bring my husband, i mean you, with me. And they want us to come this week. Can you believe that?”

Taehyung’s eyes softened, his lips curving into a tender smile. He looked at her for a long moment before whispering,

> “Really? They said that?”

Sana nodded, laughing through her tears.

> “Yes, Tae. They accepted it. Finally. After everything…, after soo soo many times”

For a few seconds, Taehyung just stood there, speechless. Then he pulled her closer, hugging her tightly and kissing her forehead.

> “Then we’ll go, my love,”

he murmured.

“We’ll go your home.we have to go there when you family, specially my mother in law has invited us. We should to”

Sana closed her eyes, resting her head against his chest.

> “I’m so happy today, Tae,”

she whispered, her voice trembling with joy. " I was only dreaming about these things but now see, its a reality. I really happening. I cannot even believe myself right now"

> “I know, and i am also happy”

he said, smiling softly.

“You deserve every bit of it.”

---

She hugged him even tighter, refusing to let go. Taehyung tried to pull back a little, but she just held on tighter — her face pressed against his chest, right over his heart. Because of their height difference, her ear rested exactly where his heartbeat was, and the steady rhythm calmed her down.

Sana had always been sensitive about the people she loved — especially Taehyung and her family. She couldn’t handle seeing anyone angry or upset with her. The call from her mother had stirred everything inside her — guilt, love, relief, all tangled together.

Taehyung knew it too. He’d seen her cry herself to sleep many nights after they escaped, feeling guilty for marrying him without her parents’ blessing. It had taken months for her to stop blaming herself.

Now, seeing her finally reconnect with her family, he felt nothing but pride and quiet relief.

---

Later that night, they sat together on their small terrace. The city lights twinkled around them, and the air was cool. Sana was sitting on Taehyung’s lap, her arms wrapped around his neck, her head resting on his shoulder.

Neither of them spoke for a while — just silence, the kind that felt safe.

Then Taehyung finally asked,

> “So, when do we have to go, love?”

> “They told us to come this week,”

Sana replied softly.

> “Then we should book our tickets soon. Maybe next week?”

Sana frowned.

> “But Tae, you have four back to back concerts this two weeks. You can’t just leave.”

> “It’s okay. I’ll talk to the agency and cancel everything,”

he said simply, brushing a strand of hair from her face.

Sana immediately shook her head.

> “No, you can’t do that! The ARMYs have been waiting for those concerts for months. It’s your group’s schedule. You can’t just skip it because of me.”

Taehyung sighed.

> “But your family invited us, love. It’ll look disrespectful if I don’t go. ”

Sana smiled softly.

> “I know… but how about this — I’ll go first this week, and you can join me later after your concerts. Maybe after two weeks?”

He looked at her, hesitating.

> “But won’t it look bad if my wife goes home alone? What will they think of me? They want to see us together ”

She chuckled, tapping his nose playfully.

> “I’ll handle it, Mr. Kim. I’m not going to let you cancel something so big just for me. It’s just twelve days. I will survive.”

> “Twelve days without you feels like twelve years,How am i going to live without you?”

Taehyung muttered, pretending to sulk.

> “Aww, don’t be dramatic,”

she teased.

“You can’t even come home during those concerts, so you’ll have to bear it.”

He smiled, shaking his head.

> “How did I get so lucky to have you in my life, huh? You’re seriously one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”

Sana giggled softly.

> “No, I’m the lucky one to have you as my husband.”

Before Taehyung could respond, she leaned forward and gave him a quick, soft peck on the lips.

He blinked in surprise, eyes wide — and then a mischievous smirk appeared on his face.

> “Oh, you started it, huh? Do not blame me later ”

Before Sana could move away, he wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer, and kissed her — this time deeper, longer. She gasped softly when he bit her lower lip.

> “Umm… Tae, don’t,”

she murmured shyly, cheeks red.

Taehyung just chuckled, brushing his lips over hers again — this time softer, sweeter, slower.

The night stretched around them — the soft hum of the city, the warmth of their hearts, and the quiet comfort of two souls who had already been through too much… yet still chose each other, again and again.
